Johnson Wedding

Erin and Dan's Springtime wedding reception was the perfect marriage of romantic and rustic, bringing opulence to a beautiful barn venue in unexpected ways. Guests enjoyed games and signature cocktails on the lawn before moving to the barn for dinner and dancing. They were welcomed by soft shades of pink and pops of gold that gave the room a magical glow. The couple approached the wedding day itself the way they approached the planning process: affectionately, filled with laughter, paying attention to detail and firmly stuck to each other's side as they danced the night away.

Haggarty Wedding

Some of our most beautiful weddings are the ones where every detail is planned with love by both the bride and groom. Katie and Jonathan's wedding was one of those! The result of their months of careful planning was the epitome of pure elegance.
12 hours before the ceremony the weather forecast threatened thunderstorms with damaging wind and hail. As the ceremony was scheduled at The Arboretum, this caused a flurry of concern which dissipated like magic when we awoke to a day that was breezy, partly sunny and warm with not a raindrop in sight.

Dinner and dancing were held at The Penn Stater, the room decorated with bouquets of roses in soft colors, dark table linens with gold accents and the tiniest bit of sparkle, and pools of candlelight. Once they started dancing, the bride and groom barely stepped off of the dance floor. Watching Katie twirling across the floor was almost as enjoyable for us as watching Jonathan's joy at seeing her so happy.

Holloway Wedding

Every wedding is personal, but Christie and Mark's day was extraordinarily so. It wasn't enough that each menu item was carefully prepared by select local vendors; no, they went as far as to serve from-scratch pasta with eggs from their own hens as an ingredient. Those weren't just any Pennsylvania wildflowers serving as bouquets: they were harvested from the Rooted Farmstead property. Every dish, every piece of crystal, the window panes that served as a seating chart and the tables hand crafted by Christie's father, the escort cards perched inside eggshells from those same resident hens... each piece was touched with love and special attention by the bride and groom. As their favorite love song goes, "...we'll build this love from the ground up..." We agree that they have certainly started with a strong foundation.

Roy Wedding

When it comes to weather in Central PA, anything is possible ... even a freak snowstorm. At Marta and Mike's April wedding we woke up not to flurries, not a dusting, but real-live snow with accumulation. What to do? This gorgeous couple embraced it. Guests wrapped themselves up in fleece scarves for the ceremony, then moved to the glass-walled (all the better to enjoy the now-flurrying snow) dining room for a cocktail reception and dancing. The room was adorned with pops of plum and peach which paled in comparison to Marta's dazzling smile and the pure joy on their faces when they insisted on running outside for a final, sunset shot in the falling snow.

Niffenegger Wedding

Holly and Mike's winter wedding was the perfect example of tradition, personality, and classic glam.  They chose a traditional, stone-and-stained-glass church for the ceremony, then mixed in an officiant who kept us all on point and laughing. The reception at the Nittany Lion Inn was draped in winter white and silver, with luxurious tablecloths and twinkling details around every corner. They were an incredibly nice couple to spend the day with, too: Holly was as friendly as she was gorgeous; her gown would have made a Hollywood starlet swoon. To be honest, though, it was Mike's dance moves that really made everyone weak at the knees.... that is, between bouts of uproarious laughter and raucous noise. If it's true that the wedding day sets the tone for the marriage, Holly and Mike are in for a day filled with love, beauty, and an awful lot of fun.

Audrey & Lynn

When a couple has been in love for more than 20 years, they often find it easy to determine what is important when it's finally time to orchestrate a wedding. Such was the case with Audrey and Lynn. Together they planned a thoughtful (and undeniably colorful) celebration of love!  The ceremony was at a friend's mountain retreat, tucked between tall trees and under an arch covered with wildflowers. Proudly they escorted each other down the aisle, preceded by a flurry of "Framily" - friends so close, they should be family - who ushered them in by waving ribbon wands and dancing to their seats. Ceremony readings spoke to love and equality, inducing chills and happy tears to all who were there. Suitably, dinner was served family-style at the Bremen Town Ballroom, awash in rainbows from the balloon arch outside to the complementary rainbow-colored linens and floral arrangements. It was joyful and a simply marvelous party where we were all reminded that Love Wins ... always!

Smith Wedding

We felt connected to Morgan and Josh the first time we met.  It's hard to say whether it was because of their Pittsburgh roots or the ultra-glam feel that the bride envisioned for the rustic barn venue.  At the end of the day the space was transformed into something out of a fairy tale: gold sequin tablecloths and accents, vintage wall hangings, and candles as far as the eye could see to create a soft, twinkling glow. Individual bottles of champagne greeted the guests upon arrival and we wished them well at the end with a visit to the traditional cookie table, with sweets lovingly created by the family.

Thayer Wedding

It's exciting to meet a couple who are so in-tune with each other that their wedding dreams match perfectly. When Alyssa and Jeritt's wedding day arrived, it was something out of a fairy tale.  It began with a gorgeous stream side ceremony where they exchanged emotional vows under the branches of an ancient tree.  Close family and friends celebrated their marriage at a reception that was dotted with deeply personal touches and filled with love. Most notable were the stunning floral arrangements, created from flowers carefully tended by the bride's mother all season.

Adams Wedding

Blair and Drew were easygoing and fun to work with! Their great attitude was a bonus when Mother Nature threw us a curve ball. What to do with sleet in mid-October? We gave guests flannel wraps, giant umbrellas, and a warm apple cider bar. Brown Dog Catering provided comfort foods that warmed us from the inside out and complemented family-made red wine at each table. Silver Arrow Band kept guests on their feet and dancing the night away.

Fornicola Wedding

What do you get when you mix sequins and flannel? The perfect day for Katie and Nick's wedding! Their reception was a blend of tradition and elegance in a quintessential Central Pennsylvania setting. Sparkling tablecloths were a backdrop for pumpkin and floral centerpieces; Brown Dog Catering provided a menu of elegant comfort foods; the traditional wedding cake and cupcakes were flanked by pies, made from scratch by the groom's mother and the groom's cake was, quite simply, a work of art. Guests enjoyed a great party that reflected joy, friendship, and love.

Ryan Wedding

When we met Katie and Devin we were excited to hear about their vision for the wedding and were more than ready to implement all of the beautiful, elaborate details of their dreams. Little did we know that we would have the added bonus to spend our evening managing happy surprises!  The day was filled with public outpourings of love: some planned, some spontaneous. As if an entrance with Terrible Towels wasn't spectacular enough, we were treated to an impressive flash mob and a serenade by Katie's sorority sisters. Katie, Devin, and their families were as shining and effervescent as the gold sequin tablecloths. From the moment the bridesmaids stepped into the salon until the last guests poured on to a bus to party the night away downtown, the day was filled with laughter and pure joy. What a magical, heartwarming reflection of their love.

Poole Wedding

Katie and Ryan's wedding was a magical day in the woods.  The C. Barton McCann School of Art, complete with a sculpture garden and magnificent landscaping, provides a venue that makes guests feel like they have stepped into the setting of a fairy tale. The energy of the day was incredible: so ready were guests to celebrate this union that they raised raucous cheers as we continued the ceremony during a brief and unexpected rainstorm. The party continued into the night, a live funk band providing background music to a wonderful, exciting evening we will not soon forget.

Jody and Rudy have that kind of effortless love that would make anyone swoon. Their wedding was just as beautiful as the love they share.
